Get paid faster and reduce administrative work with Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) and Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA).
To ensure the successful reassociation of the Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) payments with the Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA/835), providers must proactively contact their financial institution to arrange for the delivery of the CORE required Minimum CCD+ Data Elements listed below.
These CCD+ data elements align with data elements in the BPR and TRN segments in the ERA (835).
Fees may be associated with EFT payments. Consult with your financial institution for specific rates.
Enrolling in EFT allows WPS claims payments to be deposited directly into the bank account(s) of your choice.
The ERA replaces the paper Remittance Advice (RA). WPS delivers HIPAA compliant 5010 835 remittance files.
Healthcare providers who want to sign up for EFT payments and/or ERA can do so using the enrollment options listed below.
EFT: Complete and submit CMS 588 or enroll through PECOS.
ERA: Submit the appropriate form through the WPS SNAP Portal. During enrollment, you will be asked to designate who should receive your ERA—either directly from WPS or a clearinghouse. A valid WPS EDI Trading Partner ID is required to ensure timely processing of your ERA.
Healthcare providers who wish to enroll in EFT payments and/or ERA for TRICARE For Life are required to complete the enrollment process through Optum Payer Enrollment Services (PES).
With Optum PES, you submit your EFT and/or ERA enrollment information online. Optum verifies the information and forwards it to WPS, where your enrollment(s) is processed. When you choose to receive ERAs you will be asked to designate who will receive your ERA —either direct from WPS or a clearinghouse. A valid WPS EDI Trading Partner ID is required to ensure timely ERA processing.
There is no enrollment cost for providers.
